Whoo-hoo! Open Reach have been and gone. Everything went honkey-dorey and I'm a happy bunny.
Just one thing, though, does anyone know how I can set my old TalkTalk account to forward any incoming emails automatically to my new BT email address, please?0 -
you really need to tell your contacts your new email address and change any online accounts (ebay, bank, this forum) to your new email address. The talktalk account will be closed down and deleted, emails to the talktalk account will just bounce back to the senders.0

Thanks - I hoped TalkTalk would have the same kind of forwarding thing like my old Tesco account had. I'm in for a busy afternoon, and thanks again for replying.0

better than a large proportion of the country.
are you on the cheap package with a 40GB download allowance, option 2 should be upto 76Mb download speed, but an older pc may register a lower speed test, wireless connections and security software can slow things down.!!

Flip yeah! That's pretty awesome. I get less than 10% of that speed.
As for email - I strongly suggest getting yourselves new email addresses not from your isp (talktalk or BT) but from Hotmail, Outlook, GMail, GMX, or one of several other free email providers, then tall all your contacts to use that instead. In 5 years you may decide to change from BT to whoever, and if you have a BT email address you'd have to lose it and move everyone to the new address again...whereas if you had a GMail address you'd just keep it for life (unless Google go bust, which is currently unlikely)0 -
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've had to re-register with the forum as I messed up my log-in details when I altered my email address...! (I said I was a dinosaur when it comes to technology).
We've taken out the BT Infinity Option 2, mainly because our TalkTalk one was worse than useless and we'd been with them since 2008.
We went with BT as they were offering £80 cashback through Quidco and costs £20 for the first 3 months - then £26/month. (A bit different to the £32/month TalkTalk were taking when our Contract with them ended last month).0 -
Not sure this is part of this thread but BT have been constantly pushing, phone calls and letters, for us to change from total broadband to infinity which we refused as there would be an increase of £5 per month and we already get a download speed that is plenty fast enough. BT have now offered us infinity with new hub and free installation for no extra charge which we have accepted, anyone else been offered this and if so any drawbacks ?0
