....I'll have a look at some long sleeved tops as - believe it or not - I only have 2:o and I'll really need to get some for when I get back to work!
If they are for under a sweater or something, I can highly recommend MrT's gents t-shirts. They are a heavier material than the female variety & just so soft to wear after many washes, plus they are longer so cover yer modesty to keep that warm too cute-girl-hands-smiley-emoticon.gif The short sleeved ones start at four squiddlies & I think the long sleeve version is a fiver

cute-girl-hands-smiley-emoticon.gif to the council for not telling that poor chap about the free parking. I know he probably came across as a Jobsworth, but he was only doing what he is paid to do & these days having any wage is better than none. It's so easy to forget that the ones we see doing the grafting are only acting on the orders of the chumps in charge isn't it MummyRivett

Another little nsd came in from the cold yesterday; found him by the side of the road looking a bit sorry for himself so gave him a lift home :D It was my cousin's crimbly do for the families (he lives in assisted housing with three others) & I contributed a tenner to the petrol but had done that on a previous spendy cuz I knew I'd either need fuel if I was driving or helping out if we car-pooled. So that's No 9 please, as we were too late to get my favoured bread on the way home.

Hope you get some time to enjoy your w/e amongst all the hustle & bustle CK. Back BC (before children) The Offspring's dad & I used to take his grandmother around the family, so she could see them all & deliver the gifts she'd gathered over the previous 12mths. Considering she had seven (another lives abroad) children & almost 50 grandchildren living in a 10 mile radius, it took two weekends to complete as she'd sit in each & wait till offered something more than a cuppa :p By the time we got her home she was more than a little squiffy but insisted we stayed for some supper. One uncle was always the last call as he spoiled her rotten with meat fresh from the farm & just left the bottle of brandy by her side. After the second year we persuaded her to go on the Saturday that w/e as there's no way we could get her back before the early hours :rotfl: & we had work on Monday!

I must contact the florist soon as I order particular colours of carnations
& Mum has a little arrangement made, to be collected Xmas Eve. Christmas morning I go up to the Cemetery; the tradition began after FIL passed over 30yrs ago & sadly the numbers have grown, but it is not a sad place to be. Mum used to think I was weird til she came with me after losing Dad, & saw the incredible number of other relatives who do the same. When it's a glorious winter sun we sit & watch the people & birds, then move to the older part to spot the squirrels scurrying around the knarled trees.
Somehow, this act of remembrance completes my Dec 25th & gives me half an hour of peaceful reflection before entering the commercial world once again.

his grandmother sounds marvelous, when i grow old i want to be like that.

sounds lovely what you do, we do something slightly different on my fathers birthday or the weekend of, my sisters and i plan a pic nic and have it around his grave, tombstone buffet if you will. My OH found this very weird when we were first together and most people do when they find out. However my father is buried in our childhood village church right on the edge overlooking the valley and houses. there are lots of other villagers we have known and we go drink to their health too. my father died when I was 11 and we have done it ever since, by going on his birthday i feel we celebrate his life rather than remorse the loss.

for me even though i talk to my father, nothing beats the conversation i have with him when i am by his grave overlooking the village we lived in.

freeby - very annoying about the car.. hope the insurance comes out right.

No NSDs for me oon Firday due to me buying lunch as i ended up doing a 12 hour day... sigh.. Saturday after picking up my ring (SO EXCITED) we went for a wimpy (mmmmm wimpy!) and I went to church and made a donation, Sunday bought my grandparents some food, bought myself food (should have really planned for that...) made a donation to church then we got home and i went promptly to bed so that today I can start a marathon NSDing.

WHOOO! HERE I GO! So i am going to declare now to stop me spending NSD 5 :rotfl:

I think this as well BMF, so when the people who cold call trying to get me to claim back ppi or whatever, I try to tell them to burger off as politely as possible. After all they are only trying to earn a wage and keep a roof over their heads, the same as all of us on here. :)

I was polite to him I completely understood his situation, but the fact that all the cars did not have tickets and there were 20,000 santa's running by him in the park topped with an AV full of encouragement, made me ask him. Didn't you think to politley ask the event organisers so that they could tell everyone it was a mistake and they did have to pay for parking. He said it was not his job to think. You can't win them all, as his work is commission based and with all those santa's he probabley thought it was Christmas come early :o

  • Managed #3 NSDs since I started on Wednesday last week.

Still got some xmas prezzies to buy - so I'll go window shopping at lunch & try to plan it all out before buying them in one trip :)

Today won't really be a NSD as I've got to pick up a prescription *grumblegrumble*, but I will be using the money from an old scratchcard win so at least I'm not dipping into real money :)
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
  • NSD5 captured today please! Not sure when I'll be able to go for the three in a row, but feeling good about the numbers so far.
