Paypal or Ebay resolution centre

I contacted a seller (business) to return an item and they ignored me so i used the drop down box on the purchased item to return it. My purchase history now shows 1 case open awaiting sellers response. Seller is clearly ignoring me. I am going to raise a SNAD (it is clothing and the sizing is way out hence my original reason for return).
I have read that paypal is better for disputes - can i still do this through the resolution centre at paypal even though i have an open case on ebay. I have not used the resolution centre on ebay only the drop down menu.
Thanks for your help.

So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

If I claim, I use PayPal (only had to do it a few times) and never have any issue, others I have seen that use eBay seem not to have the same easy transaction. It seems to me that you are more in control of escalating the case with PayPal than you are with eBay.
Once a case is opened in either you can not change to the other you have to let the case go through.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Yes this is why i was confused i am hoping that the fact that i used the 'more actions' drop down box to arrange a return through ebay would not prevent me from using the resolution centre at paypal.
Does anyone know - if i use paypal resolution centre - what happens to my case open on my purchase history on ebay?So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.0 -

It won't let you it will tell you that you have already opened a case in eBay. Using the more actions is just a way of taking you directly to the resolution section. Don't close the case in eBay now as you will not be able to reopen, even in PayPal.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Thanks i would rather have done it through paypal but i will know if it ever happens again - hope not - this is the first time i have returned anything. The seller made such a big issue about not receiving bad feedback including emailing me before dispatch and putting a note in the parcel that i am very surprised they are ignoring me.So you're Red John? If it is not as described etc, eBay/PayPal will expect you to return (at your cost) and you have to send tracked to prove you have posted etc. So unfortunately sometimes depending on the cost of the item it can be more expensive to return than to keep the item!Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
I thought that a business seller who accepted returns would pay the return costs? Anyway it has to go back it is no use - even if i lose outSo you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.0

Can you not claim through your credit card as well if you use it to pay through Paypal? I have just received a bad multigym from Allsportsireland. Its attrociously built and doesn't resemble pictures and wont assemble safely. I am not looking forward to paying postage back for this but wonder as I paid using credit card through paypal could I go throught credit card as it over £100 like I would do if I'd just bought it on its own through the card?0

No third party can give you back more than you paid, if you want to force your right to return postage then you need to use small claims.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you send back using RM recorded delivery it will not show delivered if the postman forgets to get a signature and puts it through the letterbox, which happens a lot when I receive recorded mail.
I have an open case where I'm sure this situation has happened, and it's very annoying.0
