I'm having a problem with my soundcard, I've tried all the usual stuff but it won't work. A friend has offered to have a look using remote access. Will he be able to see everything that's on my PC? Should I put passwords on certain documents? Will he be able to access the PC anytime he likes once he's done it once? I'm not too sure about this, I'd rather someone couldn't look at everything :-/

    With remote assistance you can "cut off" the person who is looking at your documents or PC at anytime, and you should be sat infront of the PC at all times to keep an eye on things, also once the operation has been completed the usre on the other end cannot access your PC without your permission, if you are however concerned about remote assiatance just do this...

    1. Open System in Control Panel.

    2. On the Remote tab, click Settings.

    3. Clear the check box labeled Allow this computer to be controlled remotely.

    But by the date of this post all may be Ok..Lol :)

    REmote access can be used in two ways - the other person has direct control over your computer OR;
    The other person only sees what you are doing and types instructions what he wants you to do etc to see the result. you choose what type when remote assistance starts
