Credit Card Direct Debit Payments

I have a question regarding direct debits that are set up for minimum payments against credit cards.

If additional payments are made to the credit card account, which providers will not take the direct debit and which will continue to take it?

I believe barclaycard will not take the direct debit

Can anyone advise on the following:

1. Creation / Sygma group cards

2. Nationwide Credit Card

3. Tesco Credit Card

Thank you

  • My tesco card definitely does, as does my virgin card. My Santander does not.

All of mine will continue to take it (Tesco, AA, Aqua, some bank cards which I don't use any more).

So I just setup them all for the minimum payment and make the rest via manual payment. Sometimes I'm £5 in credit which really doesn't matter that much as I spend at least £60/week on fuel.

I had a Nationwide credit card and never managed to setup a DD correctly. Over 3 months I got 3 lots of "Late payment fee", 3 lots of "Refund of late payment fee" and 3 lots of apologies.
