.....from Aldi today at £5.99?
I have a TV with one scart socket, a Sony DVD/Video Combi and a Sony Freeview box so I'm not sure what benefit I would accrue from connecting them through a 3way Scart Selector.
Any advice would be much appreciated.......

..what do you mean?
A 3 way adapter would mean you wouldn't have to unplug one to plug the other in...doesn't that count as a benefit?0 -

I currently have to switch between video and TV via remote...I was hoping that by inserting a dvd or video that the scart selector would enable automatic switching.....0 -
I'm afraid I haven't had much success with these. I've tried 2 different types:
1 "automatic" box which allowed 2 Scart leads to be plugged into the box, which then had a Scart lead which plugged into the TV's single Scart socket. I had DVD player and NTL box plugged into it and it was supposed to detect which of these was turned on and direct that signal to the TV. It didn't, and I could only plug 1 unit into it at a time. Waste of money.
The one I'm currently using allows 3 Scart sockets in and 1 out to the TV, the input being selectable by push buttons on the multi-Scart box. This works but the signal deterioration to the TV is significant. This model is a "Video Umschalt-pult", and was about a fiver from Boyes.

I've got a button switching one (£10 from Argos):

No signal deterioration as far as I can see.Charlie0 -
