You don't always need a deposit. Most of the deals you see advertised include a deposit to be able to advertise a lower monthly payment. Ask in the showroom what deal can be had with no deposit.and I will save up a deposit over the next few months and start again with a fresh deal somewhere else.0 -
Only VT as a last resort. When I first started in car sales I was told this wouldn't affect credit rating but have since had an instance where I could get my customer finance but not for the full amount due to a previous VT. Apparently a VT will stay on record for six years.0

The particular car I want is due out in a few months so plan to wait to see the proper prices for finance etc, so if I save up some money in the meantime I can lighten the burden when it comes to signing on the dotted line, if, of course the price is right!!You don't always need a deposit. I've done it once before a good few years ago with another car and it didn't have an adverse effect on my credit rating, it only appeared on my credit file as 'settled' as it should be, if it appears on my file I will be asking for it's removal as it's perfectly legal to carry out a VT as per the finance agreement and CCA, I could understand the company concerned not wanting me back as a customer by checking their own files, but I'm sure there will be others. The only way I can think of it showing as anything other than settled is if perhaps the person has had arrears unpaid or at the time of the VT.Only VT as a last resort.
