Eaga Grant attached to boiler?

Hi,
I've just bought a property where the previous owner received a free annual service for the gas boiler paid for by the eaga grant scheme.
I phoned the heating company to inform them that the previous occupier had left and that we would not be entitled to the free service, only to be told that the grant is linked to the property/appliance rather than the person that applied for the grant.
Therefore they could continue to provide the free maintenance check and/or repairs on the boiler.
Does anyone know if this is correct, or is it just the heating company attempting to hold onto a customer (as they will be paid directly by eaga).
Thanks,
Steve
