Beko Customer Service - is this acceptable??

My Blomberg washing machine has stopped working - it tripped the electric and has burnt the underneath of the machine. As the machine is covered by 3 year warranty (and machine not even 2 years old) I called them. They sent an engineer who said it would be an 'extensive' repair job. I questionned whether it would be cheaper to give me a replacement but he said it was not his decision. Today, after I chased progress, I am advised the part that is needed - basically the drum and whole internal workings will not be in stock until the 10 December. They cannot guarantee that installation of these parts will fix the machine. I have spoken to Beko customer Services (who must be a partner of Blomberg) to say I do not feel it is acceptable for me to wait that long without a machine and they have told me I will just have to wait!
Is this acceptable? We have no laundrette nearby, I work full time and live in a village with no evening bus route or neighbours to speak of and a family load of washing to do and have already been a week without the machine! I have explained this Beko and suggested whether they could loan me a second-hand machine until mine is sorted but this is not normal practice apparently. I am livid! Is there anything else I can do? I asked for the Head office number which they gave me but said they probably wouldn't be able to do anything either.
Do I really have to just 'sit & wait'? Any advice would be appreciated

i would ring up and tell them you're going to invoice them every time you go to the launderette including travelling time and fuel , ask them where to send the bill to

Thanks sounds like a good idea! I have also thought of telling them I work for a consumer magazine and will be writing a suitable review of their 'customer' service!0 -

I was a bit shocked to hear about the connection with Beko. I have just had a Blomberg washing machine and fridge freezer installed. They are working fine so far bit I wouldn't have bought them if i had known. The shop where I bought them told me that Blomberg was a German firm which was just establishing itself in the UK.0 -
