Don't expect it will make much difference or ordinary plebs such as myself.
I bet some of the people who contribute to this forum could do a better job at a fraction of that salary!The BBC understands that Mr Carney will be offered a total pay package of about £624,000 a year.

I'd make rates 5% straight away and they'd fire me in 24hrs. Its more politics and appearing to have credibility then anything else. He is a front man to the actual mechanics.
They could abolish the entire job but it'd look awful like a car without a bonnet, no importance but it would cost more money then that salary in added interest costs to the national debt
He was previously considered for IMF head honcho hence the dude has the gravitas to pull in big money from every other central bank with a positive trade balance0 -
