I have read it again and still can not see what was up with his item. Feel free to point out my mistake.

Daveyjp has now said what was up with his camera lense but still feel free to point out where in the earlier posts I could have worked it out.

It read like Dave was making a joke.

I ordered Christmas presents on Friday night (about 10pm) - the first one (kindle) arrived Monday morning, and the second (a TV) turned up Tuesday morning. Both on supersaver delivery.
Mind you, I ordered calendars from Vistaprint on Friday night as well, on the 14 day delivery (as it was the cheapest), which turned up Tuesday too.
I'm not sure what's going on with all these companies, but I'm not complaining!

Wow. Some of you guys have had great service from Amazon :)

    Pity I can't say the same :(

I (stupidly) signed up for their free trial of Amazon Prime, which should guarantee next day delivery - does it hell

It's pretty much a 50/50 chance if it will arrive the next day, or even the day after! They toss a coin to decide if an item will be tracked  If you contact them when something doesn't arrive they tell you to wait almost another week "to see if it turns up"

I really wish I had never signed up to Prime. It's not fit for purpose. And I am well aware they are probably busy, but they clearly manage to get items delivered speedily with FREE delivery so why the hell not to their Prime members??? :(

    Rant over!
    :)

BlueFox - Surely you only signed up to the trial? (30 Days) If so just cancel the subscription.

I too signed up for this trial and tested the theory. I got items within 1 - 2 Working days, thats all but like some of the above members say, they too get items that fast occasionally with the standard savers option.

I think for the price annually Amazon Prime is over priced, but it is worth it if your an avid Amazon Buyer.

    I have cancelled the subscription!

It's just frustrating that I signed up thinking it would be next day delivery only to discover it's not.

I hear this so often from various sources.

I always use supersaver and my orders almost invariable turn up within two days. The only exception has been very close to Christmas.

A little patience (or forward planning) and you can save all your delivery charges with Amazon. (Although not marketplace, of course.)

I often wonder why anyone needs next day delivery all the time. What can they keep buying that is always so urgent?

That's a very good point! My reasoning with recent orders is that I was trying to orders items for christmas to get it all done early & knew I had a few days off when I could wait in for deliveries. :D

I signed up with prime trial for the Black Friday deals, all were delivered next day by DPD.
You don't even pay for the trial, so you effectively get a next day service free, compared with paying the option outside of the trial. Which was the only reason I signed up for it. I'd have done super saver delivery instead, which was also free. If my items had come 2 days later, it'd still be faster than the super saver (in my experience for my parcels).

It works for some, others it doesn't.
