I may have missed something here, but is this £110 for a device to divert water from your drain pipe to your water butt? That is stupidly expensive I cant see why anyone would buy this if thats what it is.
fyi - you were probably reported as it could be seen that you are advertising this (pants) product, being a new user does not help your case.

The local newspaper did a report last week saying that the local reservoir was still not as full as it should be at this time of year.0

Niv, thanks for explaining why i was reported. i thought the whole idea of these forums was to get peoples opinion on things.
The rainwater hub does seem expensive but i have a huge garden and trying to water my plants at the end by watering can is horrendous!0 -
Google "rainwater diverter kit"
They start around £4.50, if you have your own water butt.
You can have raised water butt and siphon water thru hosepipe for same effect."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

We have a crude water recyling system in place that collects our surface water and stores it, It astounds me with increased building and an understanding that more hard landscaping increases flooding by decreasing area of drainage our infra structure is not adapting to store this water. The amount we have stored over the last weeks of summer is actually more what we have accrued in either of the last two winters.
As well as our surface water this also takes our cleaned grey water (it runs through a klargester or sewage treatment centre). When you see how much grey water you produce there is a certain reluctance to use a hosepipe ever again, especially when on a water metre. Our plan is to get seep Jose straight on to the klargester exit pipe every spring and lay it around our entire garden, meaning we never water by hose pipe unless for new planting or similar.
It's not as cheap as even an exorbitant solution for a rain water butt, but using grey and rain water well has to be a way forward. But.....I would point out the difficulties those of us with such a system have in flooding like now, when we have more water than we can handle and are having to purposely flood land to its detriment (on a domestic scale this would probably equate to an unusable lawn/back garden).0 -
Get yourself a rainwater diverter and an IBC tank....1000 litres should keep you going. You can generally get them on Gumtree or search the internet for them.
For about £60 you could have the whole setup sorted.0
