Pension Credit Query

I applied for Pension Credit on 11th October 2012, the application was very simple and uncomplicated, only required one piece of supporting info which was acknowledged by the DWP in their reply to me - received on 26th October. Their letter also said that the application should be dealt with 'within 15 working days from the date you (I) receive this letter'.
It is now 26th November and I have heard no more, Does anyone know if there are any delays in these applications at the moment because it seems an abnormally long time to wait in my opinion.
Any feedback would be helpful
Regards
Terry

Depends on what information was required, it sounds like the letter you have had back is the standard letter sent when verification is returned - in other words not seen by the person who will be processing your claim. As for how long it will take it will a lot will depend on the workload of the Pension Centre dealing with your claim and just how simple and uncomplicated it really is.
  • Hello WhiteKnight,
Thanks for your reply, do you know if it would be possible to start a sticky thread, the object would be to ask people how long from application to receiving money in the bank. I am sure this info would be very useful to many people.
I have no idea how to start a sticky, or even if I would be allowed.
    Hope you can advise.
    Terry.

Ring the number on the letter and ask how the claim is doing. Someone should email the relevant dept and ring you back.
  • I applied for a home visit to make a claim in late November, I got a home visit on 12th. December all went well and was told I should be about £10 a week better off by claiming. I phoned PC helpline yesterday and they said everything was progressing and should get my first payment next week(if everything is ok) I'll come back and let you know but if all goes well about 4 weeks from application being made for me.
