Credit Report / Score Mess - Not sure why?

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice/help from someone who knows a bit about credit reports and scoring...

On the 15th November, I signed up to reactivate my CreditExpert account; however, the address details for me had me listed at a previous address, so I updated this info. I also filled out a form to remove a financial association. Credit score: 984

On 16th November, my address details were correct, however, "time at address" was set to "-3 months"! - a phone call later and this was resolved, however changes had already taken place and it appeared records had been duplicated (my available credit had doubled due to this!). Credit score: 608!!

This was eventually tidied up, however, my credit score has remained low - it has gone up, but only to 754!

I have three bank accounts and three credit cards, all addresses up to date - changed earlier in the month.

I am still paying the Virgin Media phone bill for my old address, however, this is cancelled as of 7/12 - would this be causing these issues - VM will not let me change my address though!

I was declined for a T-Mobile SIM Only You-Fix 30-day contract last week, and cannot see anything that could cause this - no late payments etc. I have also obtained copies of my credit reports from Equifax and Call Credit and both confirm nothing to worry about. (I have since written to the Credit Department, however, no one has contacted me yet...)

Just wondering whether the VM entry could be causing this and what I could do about it (or is it just a matter of time)?

Thanks for taking the time to read this - any help much appreciated... Happy to give more details if required.

Cheers,

fruitandnutty :-)

  • The score is irrelevant. As long as everything is now showing correctly and you manage your credit appropriately, there's nothing more you need to do.
  • Thanks for the reassurance - was just wondering whether Virgin Media refusing to change address details due to pending cancellation would be causing any problems.

Still waiting to hear back from T-Mobile re. being declined for the most low-risk contract EVER!
