Dishwasher/washing machine plumbing

Due to move soon, I've only got plumbing for either a dishwasher or washing machine, just want a make do job for 6 months until we have a full refit.Can I get a Y bit for water and waste to connect to what's there

you need one of these for the cold supply




one of these (or similiar, this one goes on top of a standard washing machine trap & standpipe) or a twin spigot p trap (if you are connecting to the trap under the sink)

I wouldn't recommend running the DW at the same time as the WM off a Y branch as you might starve the DW of its water fill (ours just takes 30 seconds worth by opening its valve and running without the full fill is bad news for the circulating pump) whereas the WM has some other way of sensing the correct volume yet swallows loads more water.
You could always lash up the WM outlet using the supplied "walking stick" curved piece to a Belfast sink like we do in the utility room.
A tip: Toolstation is a good bet for plumbing bits (low minimum order for free delivery). Just a satisfied customer etc.

Or they could do the job properly even if it's temp & not bodge it
