Returning an item & refunds

Hi, after 10+ years on E*bay - I'm returning my 1st ever item to a seller for a refund
It is faulty & they have agreed for it to be returned / refunded and have arranged for a courier to come & collect it today.
Couple of questions:
I always pay via the "pay after delivery" option - so although the seller has been paid (by pay*pal?), I've not had the money deducted from my account yet.
Do I let the seller refund my account & then just let pay*pal take the money from my account on the day it should go through?
Do I need to do anything through pay*pal / e*bay to say it's been returned?
Do I need to get anything from the courier to prove it's been collected (and what? as most seem to be this keypad thing you sign now) - it's the sellers courier so I have no proof it has been.
Any other experiences / comments welcome, thanks

There was a feature mentioned on the community boards a while ago but it was supposedly US-based."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I guess so. I haven't seen it mentioned at all on the UK boards apart from one reference by a Paypal expert, and I don't use the US boards any more (my sanity can only take so much).
It sounds like Paypal underwrite buyers' purchases to a certain extent; and it may only be available to selected buyers."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

It may depend on how you choose to pay for an item - I usually pay direct from my bank account. ETA it maybe only comes up as an option if you've got p*pay set up as a payee / direct debit on your bank account so they know they can get the money?
It was there as an option when I went to buy stuff the other week (haven't bought for a while so no idea how long it's been there).
Basically, p'pal pays the sellers who then sends the stuff - but the money's not deducted from your account for 14 days so you've time to make sure you get the product & it's OK.
I'm waiting for the courier to come to collect the box - once they've been, I've decided I'm going to do the "return an item" option on the sale (all comms by email so far) so that it's recorded properly - does this sound OK?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
