Barclaycard postal application

Hi folks
Just thought I'd ask if anyone has had success claiming from Barclaycard, or anywhere else, where the original application was by post?
I actually noticed in 2007 that PPI had been added to my account that I opened in 2002. I cancelled it and complained then and was provided with a copy of the form, and PPI had been ticked. They refunded 3 months as a gesture of goodwill at the time, and I left the complaint there as thought I'd have no chance.
I honestly do believe that someone at Barclaycard ticked that box, I used to work for Alliance & Leicester call centre and had to sell PPI myself (which I was very, very poor at!) and I know that there is absolutely no way I would've ticked that box myself.
So, anyone had success in similar circumstances?

Yes I thought so too - but no harm in trying I guess.
At the time it really annoyed me, I have a long email thread of my complaint to customer services, but like you say, very difficult to prove.
I've read a few similar situations on here but not how the claims ended.0 -
IN theory they can bar you from any new complaint on that subject. Indeed, under multiple time bars.
1 - You complained and accepted their offer and that made it case closed. You dont get a second bite
2 - You get three years from being reasonably aware of the problem or 6 years from the start date, whichever is later. three years from 2007 expired in 2010.
They can choose to activate the time bar if they wish. Doesnt mean they will.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I didn't actually accept the offer as no offer for me to accept was made. They simply refunded 3 months, I wrote to them saying that whilst I appreciated the refund I was not happy with the situation and that is when I requested the application form.
However, yes, it was a long time ago, and to be completely honest I have now jumped wholeheartedly on the PPI bandwagon with this! Only now that PPI has become such a big issue did I think I might have more of a chance with it, before it just seemed pretty futile which is why I left it at that in 2007.0 -

Which leads to another time bar. You get 6 months to appeal the decision by refering it to the FOS. After 6 months, they can bar access to the FOS.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
