Such a sad time for you, will be thinking of you at the sad time its so hard to say goodbye. Big hugs for you.0

FIP and Parvo (normally with dogs) are both horrible because you feel like your pet has gone from being perfectly healthy to having to say goodbye to them in a matter of days.
You're definitely doing the right thing though, bless him. Just keep thinking of all the good times and it will help you through this difficult day.0 -
Thinking of you and your family. I tried to fight to get my cat better and have regretted it ever since, she ended up on oxygen and by the time the vet and I had decided to let her go there was no time for me to get there, while the vet was on the phone to me she died. You've done the best you can for your baby.
My other cats wasn't very bothered, one kept searching for her, the other 2 didn't change at all.0 -
Well he didn't make the afternoon - vet called to say he was struggling to breathe and could I get home sooner. I work 1.5hrs from home and 2hrs from the vet so I agreed to them letting him pass and I would go to say goodbye.
I can now confirm three things;
1. I was hoping for a miracle.
2. Menthol tissues don't help tears.
3. People stare at crying people on the tube.
It is a horrid illness but I urge anyone who thinks their cat is off colour or a bit off their food to see a vet - don't wait and hope they get better. If its FIP then they really can go downhill quickly.
Thank you for all your lovely posts - its really helped as knowone else seems to quite understand how heartbreaking it is losing a puss-bag!If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

This is exactly the problem! He went from fine but skinny and off his food to not fine at all, then the tests came back and he just got worse and worse. In just 4 days.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

No problem at all, I just wish it was a different outcome and that horrible disease didn't exist. I still get emotional when I look at the photos of my lovely kitties almost a year on. One of the very few positives that came out of the whole experience for me was that the more I got to know about FIP the more I knew that the outcome was fairly inevitable and I knew did the best I could for them, and you have done the same. Your lovely boy is no longer suffering and I hope you never experience that again! xSome day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. - C.S. Lewis0
