Good Morning everyone ,started off very wet and pelting down with rain first thing but at the moment a watery looking sun is out.I have just got in from the school run and a blooming wet one it was as well, but I have changed my clothes and had some breakfast I am just off to knitting club as I have a big bag to go to the Blythswood trust whom we knit for. Then I shall pop into see Shelley as its onlyy round the corner from where I go then back to youngest DDs to let the dogs out at lunchtime ,then home for lunch around 1.00, I want to make some Leek and Tattie soup after lunch for the week so thats on my to-do list, and then feet up for half an hour until I go at pick up the boys from school mid afternoon.Home to their house and I am having dinner there tonight as its my lovely son-in-law Simons birthday today bless him and we always eattogether on birthdays .Yesterday I helped DD and said son-in-law strip their dining room as she wanted it re-papered before Christmas, and we managed to get about a quarter of it done by last night and its looking really nice.

Morning all,
one heck of a weekend for me i am afraid. I was rushed off my feet for most of it. I really dont understand why weekends have to be so stressful.
Shops were heaving yesterday when i went shopping for Auntie. Not a pleasant experience being in a queue a mile long when the only thing i wanted was a tub of margarine. I still wasnt able to get the size she wanted.
To say i'm worried about Auntie is an understatement but i keep having to remind myself that she has a son and its not my place.
Moving swiftly on, usual household duties are before me. Ive made a start on them but theres plenty to do.
Firstly, i will think about breakfast.:)

Morning all,
Have stripped our bed and re-made it, bedding in the wm. Got loads of ironing to do and vacume down stairs. Vacuming takes ages as I have to do the stone walls, I try to do them every 2 months. Oh the pleasure of living in a stone built cottage !
We are having 10 friends around for a cheese and wine do tomorrow night. We have a monthly meeting (it's an investment club we set up, just playing on the stock market) usually held at our local but this month I'm hosting it. I'll check the cupboards to see what ingredients I need to make garlic bread, sos rolls, and lots more nibbles. Everyone brings some cheese and a bottle so it wont be too expensive.
Right then, off to make a shopping list.
NMLC, hope your Mum has the plaster off in time for Xmas.
((hugs)) to all in need.0 -
Morning All
We have rain yet again, so no washing being done here today,I did get two loads done yesterday and it mostly dried on the line, it is finishing off on the airers now.
I made a lemon drizzle cake for tea time yesterday and it is gone  They loved it, and DS took the last piece with him to college this morning, so it looks like I will have to make another one I need to use up some lemons anyway, but this time I will allow it to cool, slice it and put it in the freezer.
Topsy, I am sorry to hear that work is treating you so badly ((((Hugs)))) x

Morning everybody,
Hope no-one here has had any flooding.Lots of rain here over weekend but no floods.
Had a hectic weekend with DGD staying, then yesterday DHs Uncles 90th.DGD came with us for a couple of hours and then had to go back to Mummy, but all the older rellies enjoyed seeing her and DH cousins GD,there is only 3 weeks diff in age but DGD towered over the other little girl, who is a little dinky dot,v. petite. They were very good once they stopped being 'shy':rotfl:
The house feels like a tip, combination of not being able to do much while she was here, and being out and about a fair bit-so I really need to set to
As we didnt have a roast due to being at the party, tea tonight will prob be something with mince.DS2 is having his minor op on his nose today, his brother has to pick him up later as he is having a gen anaesthetic.I was going to change his bed but I might leave it for today in case his nose bleeds, his duvet set is red:rotfl:

Hello all,
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend as much as they could, just back in work again so caught up with the posts from Friday. Sorry to hear so many pets seem to be ill at the mo.
Friday, I went and did the shopping for mum helped by dad which was hillarious, I have never seen my dad armed with a shopping trolley. He was shocked at the prices of goods in the supermarket and now my mum can at least say 'i told you so'. Mum's pain was much better as a friend gave her some kind of patch which is stuck on her lower back and mum said it was unbelievable how it took the pain away. We are going to see if we can get hold of this stuff ourselves, apparently it has the name belladona on it which is scary as I'm sure that is some kind of poison!
Saturday, it was my weekend for the kids so we had a lazy morning, I did all the washing, dd2 was at her boyfriends till afternoon and dd3 sat and watched telly! In the evening I took them to see the film Gambit at the cinema, armed with little bags of sweets from the supermarket as I wasn't paying their prices. The film was good and we enjoyed it but came out to torrential rain and the car park was flooded. On the way home, we popped to see my dd1 who lives with her dad. She has only just started talking to me after two years so it is still early days but I'm hopeful she will continue. I miss her.
Sunday, well I had a baking day. I made a carrot cake and the cinnemon buns from off this thread. The carrot cake was wrong though, I'm sure the amounts weren't right 150g flour to 250g carrots seems way too little! The cinnemon buns were absolutely delish, and I have decided not to attend sw anymore as I just can't be a*****ed with depriving myself of food I enjoy just because guide lines state I'm too big!
Many thanks to donny-gal for the quotations put up on Friday's thread. They were great and made me laugh so have printed them off and they are going to be my mantra from now on.
Well today, in work, its quiet so book coming out in a min. Still having ryvita and cheese triangles for lunch but have just had a bun with my coffee.
Have a lovely day all. My thoughts are with those people struggling with the flooding.

Afternoon all, just beginning to dry up here and no flooding, although Saturday was bad on the roads.
Have been to gym, done a food shop, cleaned and tidied the spare room and lounge as my cousin is coming to stay on Wednesday and I am at work tomorrow.
i'm planning to take her to Oxford for the day at her request. I hope it's not too crowded.
Great weekend and one of the meals was a success, one ok and I have already reported on the failure here!
Really tired and achey now so am going to grab a sandwich and then try to soak the pain away in the bath.
Hope all have a good day.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
Took dd to get injection done and then again to get a blood test done for next week's hospital check up and then came home and made big pot of leek and potato soup.
Turkey mince (YS) is defrosting to make burgers to have with soup tonight and popped into charity Christmas shop and treated myself to new Chloe handbag and a vacuum jug.
Watching Heartbeat and The Royal with dd and a cup of tea while checking e mails and browsing on here.
Topsy
Surely it is their job to train you properly in the first place. Hope things get sorted out for you.
Getting dark and wet and the river looks quite high so hope it does not flood again.
