Barclays Overdraft Charging

I have a regular payment going into my bank every 4 weeks. I have set up a dd from my current account to my savings account for the amount the same day.

At 12am I check my account to make sure the money has gone in and it has but the dd does not take affect til a few hours later. However on my bank statement it is the other way round. Barclays make it look like the money went out and into my savings account before the regular payment went into my current account.

Surely this is wrong? I have brought it to there attention and they wont admit any wrong doing.

Bank statements follow standard accountancy rules. Always have. This places debits before credits on a bank statement.

At this time, bank statements are not real time. They show transactions that occur on a daily basis in accountancy order. Not time order.
I have brought it to there attention and they wont admit any wrong doing.

That is because they are not doing anything wrong and its been this way for hundreds of years.

As the other responder mentioned - has been that way for years - I assume that they have not charged you any fees - so I do not see why you seem to have a problem.
And yes I too also bank with them. Compared to some, they seem to be more than OK for me at least. Suits me to a T.

So does your Barclays current account statements show a time of transaction?

I don't have a current account with Barclays, but I do have a savings account and that doesn't show the actual time of the transaction.
My current account with another major bank does not show the time of any transaction either.
