Problems found after moving into house

I appreciate that after moving into a house lots of things are found that need to be put right, but is there ever any legal recourse to ask the sellers to help with the cost of putting things right? We moved into a house and found the back door would not open and the side gate was locked, so on our first day we couldn't…

I wasn't moaning, just asking for some advice about a legal technicality and the net result is having my radiator fixed so I am not displeased with the result of posting.

I am not sure most people could buy and fit six doors and repair a radiator "within minutes" but well done to you if you can.
