Grandkids were playing with the remote for the Humax and now we're watching in black & white only. Anybody know how to undo whatever they have done?

Check that the cabling is properly connected, are you using a SCART or HDMI?
If you use the TV direct with the Hummy off, is it then OK?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes its fine with the Freesat box, just b&w with the Humax on. No cabling, jsut they had the remote and pressed something!0

So this is a Freeview PVR? Which model?
I still suggest you check the cabling, that's about 30 seconds work. A SCART not fully home can sometimes cause this effect.
Have you tried just rebooting it?No free lunch, and no free laptop

He tried rebooting yes. Its a Humax that was switched on when the kids were here and they had the remote and were in the menus OH thinks. Ignore the Freesat lol that one is ok. (we use both of them, I dono why, the husband set it up LOL)0

He's gone to bed in a mood. Will get him to try that tomorrow ! 0 -
Everything's working fine, but instead of a colour picture from your Freeview box, you're only getting a monochrome black & white picture. If this is what you're experiencing, then you probably have a mismatch between the mode that your box is outputting, and the mode that your TV is expecting. For example, the set-top box may be set to output S-Video (also known as Y/C) and your TV set to RGB or PAL.
To solve the problem, change the setting on either the TV or the set-top box to ensure they are the same.
If in doubt, set the AV setting of both to RGB. Refer to the manual if you're not sure of how to do this.

Think you've solved it spank - everything was fine until the bl**dy kids started fiddling with the remote. OH (who got up at 5.30am because it was on his mind!) found something on the remote menu called "tv scart", pressed that, and it went back to colour! TY!
and thanks all, because we don't understand this stuff at all and you're always helpful xx0
