Tesco have introduced 2% for transfer of balances to 0%.:mad:
Joining Barclaycard, Mint, MBNA and A&L, in a clamp down on rate tarts.:mad:
Egg, Halifax, HSBC and IF do not.:j
This last bit came on a quote from the MSE, I think.:money:

Sadly, it would appear that Halifax now need to be added to the other list.Al_Mac wrote:Egg, Halifax, HSBC and IF do not.:j
From the Halifax One web page...
=======
Halifax One Card
Step into the future of credit cards! The Halifax One Card is out of this world:
A spectacular typical 12.9% APR* (variable)
0% for 12 months on all balance transfers and purchases (A handling fee of 2% applies per balance transfer)
=======
The phrase "step into the FUTURE of credit cards" is a little worrying!0 -

Yes, the Halifax card has become somewhat less competitive .. lowest offered rate now 12.9% rather than 9.9% and a nasty balance transfer fee. At least the interest-free period is now one year, rather than 9 months.
From what I can tell, the Halifax charity cards (eg NSPCC, Mencap, Cancer Research) do not have a BT fee. They're only 9 months at 0% rather than 12, but this might (if my research is correct) be a good alternative to the Halifax One card, with the added benefit of supporting charidee.0 -
Your right, I'd completely missed them when I was looking at what else was available. Arghhhh.....I just got mine.....now its twelve? dagnabbit!
I wonder if it is worth phoning them and moaning about them treating existing customers unfavourably? I love those 'onlyfornewcustomers' tv adverts!0 -
Capital One were on Radio 4's Today Programme this morning saying they have done research into how much this costs and how card companies are starting to charge customers - it was just a scare tactic and an opportunity to plug their 'long term low rate card' so you 'dont have to tart' (translate as 'so we can make some money out of the fact that you can be bothered to move')0

Hi all, on my Tesco booklet app. form for a CC it say's "for balance transfers made before 1st November 2005, we will charge you no more than £35"
So I have applied and asked for an 8K BT to my A&L CC (which does SBT's) on the app. form.
I will post again if I manage to obtain a card!
