My wife gets £46 per week carers allowance,will this affect our tax credits?

yes its counted as income , when i claimed carers allowance for the 1st time in 2005 i had to declare it. from april 2007 you have to tell tax credits of any changes within 1 month of your circumstances changing. it was 3 months from any new changes.
if you claim dla you have to tell tax credits as well , you may get more tax credits as well.
