Samsung vs Sharp

I am looking at purchasing one of these for my sons christmas. To be used mainly for ps3. Clearly one is £50 cheaper but what I want to know is are they similar quality etc or should I be looking at spending the extra £50.

I personally prefer the colour from samsung TV
Sharp LED is OK to me, but it is only 720p. However, John Lewis's 5 year guarantee make it a good deal.
