Laptop - Wired OK, Wifi Not

Daughter's laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ61. If I connect it to my router (TG582n) wired it connects to the internet OK (websites load OK). If I connect it via wifi then it shows the wifi connection as being OK and shows as connected to the internet, but no websites will load. (DNS seems to be acting as it seems to map URL to IP address).
Thoughts as to what I need to look at?
(I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling the wifi adaptor but no difference. I have also tried with Windows firewall disabled and still no difference).
PS - this post was made via own laptop connected to the same router via wifi.

Sod's Law strikes ... after shutting it down and leaving it for a while, when starting up again it suddenly decided to start working! :rotfl:
In the meantime, I found this as a possible future solution should it start being problematic again.
