Hi my home insurance renewal has come back alot dearer than it would be to renew as a 'new' customer through confused.com, am I allowed to just take out a new policy through the website? or are there rules stopping this? It is with morethan if that makes a difference.

I don't know MoreThan's rules on this but could you ring them and ask them to match the quote for your renewal.
If they say no and you can't take a new policy online then you maybe have to look at other providers.
I have done this before - better offer online than my renewal - but have confirmed it's ok with the company beforehand ie the offer is not for new customers only.
Also check that the cover is the same and there are not higher excess fees on the new policy.0 -
Some deals for new customers exclude exisiting customers, But some may exclude previous customers who were insured within the last 12 months.
Stop you cancelling and getting cheaper quotes.
