CEA card and orange Wednesdays

I took my two daughters, one of whom has a CEA card to the cinema last Wednesday. I handed over the CEA card expecting to pay for 2 of us, when the attendant asked me if I had got an orange Wednesday code. I said no as I was using the CEA card and he told me I coud use both. As we were earlyish for the film I left the queue and texted for orange wed code. I then went back to desk and the guy took the code and just charged me for one ticket and gave me 2 free.

I have since checked the policy with odeon customer services and they have confirmed this is correct and they allow both orange wed and CEA card to be used together. Very handy if like us you are a family of 3.

Same at vue - If i go on a wednesday with my disabled son and my daughter ,I have a carers ticket and I pay for just one of the children.
Been a while since we went ,but hopefully still the same.
just as well ,because DS often gets restless and we have to leave before the end of the film!

I went to the Vue the other week on my own (yes sad I know), now since I have a CEA Card when I go with a friend I get one helper/carer ticket for free & pay for one (my own), they we just split the cost of the one between the two of us (so we both get in half price).

However since I was on my own I thought I'd have to pay full price (since I had no helper/carer), but the attendant said if you have a CEA Card you get one ticket free regardless of how many tickets you buy, so got 1 ticket which was the free one so got in for nothing.

I don't think this is correct, but wasn't going to turn a gift horse away.

Does anyone know if this is correct?, if so I might go more often on my own

  • If I took my son to the cinema, who will be getting a CEA card and we went on a wednesday, Will I still have to pay for my sons ticket?
I will get mine free as the carer
will my son be able to get in with the orange wed code?

The terms and conditions are set by Orange - its one free ticket for every one full paid ticket, and it's always the cheapest that goes free, so when there's just two of you, you can't use a CEA card and Orange, its one or the other.
