I find the tesco version of utterly buterly makes a lovely cake - was always a butter gal but a few years ago when I started at a tearoom (1 man band during week) only to find the shelves bare and a serious derth of ingredients so had to use what I had as I was due to open up in an hour!!! So utterly butterly it had to be and I was very impressed by the results so much so I've stuck with it ever since and always get complements on my cakes, do still use real butter for biscuits though as I find they spread too much otherwise.0

Vitalite is great for cake and pastry if you need something dairy free.
But TBH you won't be saving much if you use one of the value butters, so I'd just go with that, because you can taste the difference!
