Samsung Tablet issue

Hi, I wonder if anyone can offer any advice.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - working great for the last 2 months.
Now the charger was always a bit iffy, had to wiggle the cord about to get it charging. Charged it lst night - it says on teh screen "Charging" and the lightning flash appears, but the charged % is going down not up! Tried switching it off, and although the battery appeared on the screen (indicating that it thinks its charging) the charge % is still going down.
So thought it was the dodgy charger, but the tablet is seeing the charger but not actually doing anything.
Bought from Tesco Direct who open at 10am. Think they will probably say return the whole thing, but wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this before I do?
Thanks

Im thinking you could maybe see if it would charge up with being connected to the pc via the usb port, you got a cable with usb on 1 end and the connection for the tablet at the other end.0

That won't normally work as the USB port does not supply enough power to charge the tablet so it will only allow data transfer.
JWM - Do you have a separate lead and charger? Are you using the original lead? I bought a second spare lead for my tablet but it didn't last long as a connection came loose internally (not sure if a bad cable or a bad copy) so it was intermittent then stopped working which sounds similar to yours.

The Galaxy Tabs (at least the first few models) definitely won't, I can't remember what the minimum power they require is but unless you have an adapter which disables the USB data part they won't charge off a standard USB port.

Thanks for the replies. Phoned Tesco Direct who said no problem take it back to the shop who will arrange a full refund or replace.
Went to the shop, waited 15 mins in the Q, was told no, Tesco Direct should have given me a reference. I said I think its just the charger so they tried the display charger and it worked fine.
So can you give me a replacement charger I said. No, I have to phone Tesco Direct back and they will arrange to send one. But there's a box with a charger there, says I. No, we can't give you that one.
Give up. Call Tesco Direct to be told that actually I have to phone Samsung but they are closed today. But they will just send me a charger? Apprently so.
I will call them tomorrow, but have also just ordered one on Amazon.
What a palaver!! :mad:0 -
Meant to say tried the USB but it didn't work either. Think theres a bad connection on the charger bit that goes into the tablet so it doesnt' matter if I try a PC or plug.0

I know this isn't the principle of the thing - but you can pick up a replacement charger on e-bay for £1.50 including postage. At least it would get you up and running again, and a spare is always handy.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
