Hi
Our 20 year old boiler seems really noisy.
Thinking of draining system then refilling adding X400, which i intend to leave in until Xmas break.
Then draining and adding x100 and x200. All via expansion tank in the loft.
These are all sentinel products from screwfix.
Does this sound right?
Thanks

Hi
Seems to be working fine, just noisy can hear it fire up and then work loudly.
Rad in upstairs bathroom needs bleeding every couple of months and some rads are hotter than others and cold at the bottom.A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Hi
It's with bgas home care at £20 pmonth.
Last visit was jan so due a visit soon
When u say service not sure what this means as they don't stay long and do a few safety checks.
But haven't called them out for anything

A gas 'safety check' has no connection to a boiler service. Surely you know what you are contracted to if you are paying £240pa?!No free lunch, and no free laptop0

macman, thanks for your reply, the homecare includes service, safety check and energy efficiency check.
However as i say they dont stay long, and since i am not corgi registered not sure what they do or supposed to do.A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

If you think you hve a dirty system then by all means do a chemical flush. But don't drain it first - thats a waste of time. Add the X 400 but don't leave it in there for more than about 2 weeks and add it through a radiator not through the F&E tank. If its not kettling then the Boiler Silencer won't be much use to you.
