As the title says we picked up our rescue dog today, we are so happy! We adopted him from Spain with a lot of help from a local rescue centre.
He is currently fast asleep after travelling since Thursday!
Has anyone else rescued a dog (maybe also from abroad) and do you have any hints or tips to make him as comfortable as possible?

Ah he /she is one lucky dog.
I would say the main thing is taking things at there pace,
- the first few times in the garden - take them on a lead, so they know the boundaries
- out and about start small walkies and for the first couple weeks stick to the same route
- try to avoid tons of visitors - may be too much for the dog at first
- work on simple commands
- although i don't use one, consider a cage - so the dog knows that there safe zone
Hope everything goes ok,
(for pics - need to go through photobucket open an account (free) upload photos to there, then there produce a link - add this link to the post and then people can log in only lead to pics you link to xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
