worktop to fit ikea kitchen

I have just ordered an ikea kitchen but didn't like any of their worktops. Ive seen one i like somewhere else however the worktop is only 600mm (the same as the units) my idea is to put a splash back behind the worktop instead of on top giving me the same dimention as the ikea worktops. Also if the worktop runs out and leaves a gap could i not also put an upstand on as well.

Or does anyone know where i can get a worktop to fit an ikea kitchen.

What depth are you looking for?

One option is Howdens (also MFI) who sell 616mm Formica produced worktops.

Alternatively Artis manufactur a single post formed 650mm deep worktop, it is not well advertised but their dealers were able to obtain it in a limited range of colours when I enquired a few months ago.

We got worktops from Howdens to fit our Ikea kitchen.

Our first Ikea kitchen, we chose worktop from Homebase, 'cos we wanted a bigger breakfast bar than Ikea had.

The second Ikea kitchen we used their worktops - are you sure you don't like them.

& did you use an Ikea storecard for the purchase - you get 5% off the first transaction - so might be worthwhile, seeing if you're able to do this, if you haven't already finalised things.

Only if you pay off in full on first statment is this worthwile though!!
