Amazon Credit Card

Does anyone have one and can anyone give advice on whether its useful or not? x

Comments

  • I have one and think it's great.

£10 Amazon voucher when accepted and the equivalent of 3% of any purchases within the first 90 days (paid in £10 vouchers as you earn them.) So a £10 voucher for every ~£333 spent.

After the introductory deal it reverts to 2% on Amazon and 1% elsewhere (again paid in £10 vouchers.) This is still okay - certainly worth using on Amazon, unless you have cards that pay more (usually they only offer good rates for first 3 months too.)

It's a mastercard so accepted pretty much everywhere - I recommend it. Maybe after the 90 days are up you could look for another card with a good introductory offer.

I pay all my CCs off in full each month, so not bothered about APR (which usually varies dependant on your credit rating.)

Be careful, there are loads of different versions of the Amazon card and don't all have the same offer quoted above. Just make sure that the offer that flags up when you make the application is the one that suits you, but some great rewards to be had if you use wisely!

I'd much rather go for one of the cards that actually pay you cash instead of vouchers. Aqua being my favourite at the moment, 3% cash on all purchases for the indefinite future.

They generally have quite low limits though, so not so great for big purchases.
