Bike insurance and 2 Separate Jobas!

I have just tried to take out Motorbike insurance for the first time and was recommended I phone the company direct.

I did so after filling in their online quote and receiving what looked like a good price.

The man on the phone told me something I just wanted confirmed.

I have 2 separate jobs 1 in an office and 1 in a supermarket.

I never drive directly between 1 and the other always home for dinner in between.

BUT

The man said i must they take business cover as commuting only covers single place of work.

I only ever drive from home to one or the other never between them and I have never been told this before after 4 years of insuring a car it came as a bit of a shock.

Is it true I need business use because i have 2 jobs?

Bit OTT but probably correct. It may not cost you any more to note that you commute to different places of work.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I think they are wrong. Commuting is travel to/from a single place of work. Even if you went directly from one to the other, I would still say it is commuting.

    What is the price difference?
  • The price difference is roughly £60 py but I think it's more a principle thing as I have never had to pay it before.
