Theatre tokens - will I get my money's worth?

Hi,
I have £140 in theatre tokens that I have to use before Christmas as I'm leaving the country. We have always wanted to see Lion King, so I've had a look at that, but there are really misleading prices on the website.
In the 'available tickets' section, there are prices for tickets from £38 onwards, but when you click on the sections, there are no tickets available. But when you tick the boxes for 'full price tickets' or 'premium tickets' then there are lots of options, but the prices are for much higher.
I did think that we would be able to get 3 tickets with our £140, but looks like I will have to pay out.
Does anyone know how I can do this - know how the system works?
Thanks

What day of the week are you looking for and when? The nearer the date, and if its a weekend the least likely you are to get the cheaper tickets. Could you visit the box office maybe? Or give them a call, they should be able to advise you.0

As we're in outer London, I could probably go any time of the week, so it would help to know which are the cheaper days. I can go up until about the 16th.
I just don't get how they sell so many tickets at those prices. I had been thinking that we might see 2 shows with our vouchers and have some left over
I will call a bit later - I was hoping that I might get some tips on how to go about getting cheaper tickets first though.

The Lion King is very expensive. I was thinking of booking tickets to see it, but thought the prices were too high. We booked tickets for 3 other shows instead.
If you really want to see that show, then maybe look at the matinee performances, they sometimes have more tickets left, which might mean there are some slightly cheaper tickets available. My advice would be to check through each performance individually.
I just did a quick search and could find 3 tickets for £135.60: The Lion King (05-Dec-2012 14:30)
Stalls B3-B1 Full Price Band C.

Well I've just spent at a guess about £10 - 15 on phone calls (30 minutes + hold on a 0844) , but I've booked the tickets, - £62.70 each . I figured that as it is supposed to be such a spectacular show, we should make the most of it, and it'll be a treat for the kids as they are going through a lot having to move.
They first tried to offer me tickets at £42.50 with a restricted view, but I didn't fancy having a pillar in front, and one of my kids may battle to see over the railing so that was a no go.
Incredibly expensive, and I was about to give up, but then looking at some of the pictures on google images and taking the reviews into consideration, I thought I may as well.
I was amazed on my phone calls that despite on my tokens it being very clearly printed that ticketmaster accepts them, when I tried calling them they said an absolute no. Then I phoned the number that comes up on the lyceum theatre which directs to another site londontheatredirect - and they refused the tokens as well. I had to book through I think atgtickets which I couldn't find a landline number for. (Used a different computer to this so not at hand).
I was starting to worry I wouldn't be able to use the tokens at all. Although I've now used mine, I would not recommend buying them for others as a gift anymore.0
