I have been receiving DLA High Mob, Mid Care for 3 years, ( one renewal in that time)
My latest claim ran out on 6 November. I filled out forms in time and sent them back. Result was High rate Mob but reduced Care to Low rate.
I filled out the GL24 to appeal and sent it back, i got a letter saying it was received 24 October and it could be 11 weeks before i heard anything.
In the meantime i received a letter from ESA saying my payments would reduce due to losing the SDP.
I have heard nothing from DLA but received a letter from ESA this morning asking me to apply for SDP as i am getting Middle or High rate Care component of DLA.
Can i get my hopes up that they have reversed the decision to drop me from mid rate to low rate, or am i being optimistic?
Many thanks for reading

While it would seem a reasonable hope on your part, administration on ESA is fairly poor, with letters generated seemingly at random.
Contact DLA to check.
The front-line phone people may not be able to help.0 -

Thanks for the reply, i know from experience that they are not good with letters, i have never received results of ESA renewal, usually get told when i go to WRAG meetings at JCP and they look on the computer!
Oh well, better not get my hopes up, will fill it in and send it off anyway!0
