Can i withdraw £1800 cash over the counter at TSB?

Hello

Sorry for the long-winded, (though to the point  ) title of the thread.

Is it possible to withdraw £1800 cash from a Lloyds TSB current account, so that i can transfer it to a different bank asap, to make a prompt funds transfer into an isa, for the last tax year - the bank is letting me do this (as they made a mistake with the form) but to speed things up, i was hoping to withdraw the cash from tsb first.

Does anyone know if this is possible? or would there be a limit?

I would have checked at the branch, but it shut at 4:30pm!

Thanks

You should be ok take ID with you if they don't know you BUT also check that the other bank will accept cash and are not expecting a cheque!

LTSB Mini cash ISA 's can only be opened with cheques or a direct debit.

The bank who's isa i am trying to open with is Barclays, they had a deposit account from ages ago, and transfered it to a Barclays current account - they were meant to transfer it then into the isa, but they must have forgot  , and there was a problem with a cheque

I recently paid into my LloydsTSB current account £3,000 in cash taken out of RSB only half an hour previously. Then, the following week, unexpectedly, I withdrew £2,000 in cash from same LloydsTSB without any problem other than showing my driving licence as it wasn't my own branch.

Today I paid £1,000 into my account by cheque and was very pleased to hear that I could instantly transfer it into my online saver account.

So, shouldn't be a problem for you.

I have had problems with Lloyd's TSB in this regard.

Several times stroppy staff have told me that as it's not my branch, I can't do it - regardless of ID produced or whatever other checks they are able to do.

What they were actually trying to do was force me to close the account at another branch and open one at theirs.

i'm not quite sure that is the case. as an ex employee of lloyds. i have never seen an account at a different branch closed and transfered to a specific branch. the only thing that would change is the sort code.

staff are usually just arsey coz it means they gotta do some work
