Everytime i update norton internet security 2012 it says there is a patch to be applied and proceeds to do it,any other users having the same?

Same happens on 2013 , I believe it is part of their two stage updates but couldn't find much about it , it means that apps like FF and IE have to be closed (and maybe others) Only went for 2013 on Weds on my "test" machine ... the version I have on there is 20.2.0.19 , it seems very stable and live update "seems" quicker (except for applying the patch ...4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex .
