Refund on Card

Since paying off my monthly credit card bill, I`ve had a refund added taking me to about £200 in credit above my limit.
Can I just go to a cash machine and withdraw the surplus without penalties or do I have to keep using my card until the credit is used up?

A cash machine would almost certainly land you with a charge of c3%. Unless it's a Halifax Clarity Card or similar.

I'd spend my way out of it.

But as it's a genuine refund I'm sure the card issuer could be convinced to draw you a cheque if it's needed.
  • If you draw cash they will charge you.

Either use the card for everything you would normally pay cash for or contact your card company and ask if they will agree to a transfer of the excess without charge to your bank account. Mine agreed to this after a fireplace and fire were refunded, putting £2000 back in my card long after it had been paid for. ( but some are reluctant to do this)

    Thanks for the quick replies.

It is a Halifax Clarity card but I think I`ll just spend on it as there is some sort of an event coming up on 25th December which may require spending on. :xmassmile

Let me know what you want.

Do you lose out having a birthday on Christmas Day or get double the amount of prezzies
  • LOL

Don't generally lose out. Either get double prezzies or bigger prezzies with both rolled into one. When I was younger, quite a few would get me present for one and voucher for the other, so ace for the January sales.
