Hi everyne i need some help....
I wrote to HSBC a few weeks ago asking for my charges (£648 inc interest) and I received a letter back today saying that their willing to offer me £477 which will not include interest. They wrote me a four page letter with lots of legal mumbo jumbo saying that basically a fee is payable if i do go over my o/d as set in the banking t&c's, they are mindful of the irrecoverable legal costs incurred with such a claim.
They say '' For commercial reasons alone, without accepting any liability what so ever, we are prepared to make a payment ... ''
'' We are not prepared to pay interest as we do not accept this as approprate''
I know its only a case of £150 or so, but what should I do? My mum said its just a starting point for negotiation and i could get more if i fight, but what do u think, and how long and how much will it take to get to court? I dont even know if i would win in court coz im not the most responsible banker!
Thanks 4 your time ..

If the £477 is your claim without interest you must accept this as the interest is only awarded by the courts, you cannot refuse this and then start court action.0
