New Asda Credit card

in Credit cards
Just wondered if anyone can answer my query? Asda have just changed their credit card provider from Santander to someone else9cant remember who!) Anyway we had to apply for the card & have just recieved out second bill. They charged us £12 for a late payment! On querying this as my husband gets paid on 26th & our last card was payment by 2nd of the month. It tunrs out they have set a payment date of 27th & will not change it!! No where in the process of application did they mention the payment date & all my other credit cards have the facility to change the payment date so now i am goinf to be in debt as I have set up a minimum payment so we do not get charged the late fee but as my husbanc cannot pay till 36th 7 bank payments take 3-5 days they will charge us interest on the balance for these days. Can they do this? i am in the process of applying for a barclaycard & ditching Asda altogether but i feel really peeved that they are so inflexible & are putting me into debt! Are they able to refuse to change the payment date - should they have pointed out the payemnt due date on application? Is there anything else I cna do other than get rid of the card??

First of all, please learn to punctuate
its very hard to read you problem in one bite! Secondly, the new card provider is a completely different finance provider ( creation bank ). They don't know what your payment date is with the old provider as they haven't shared any information with them. Thirdly, you will have received a statement detailing what to pay and when.
Sorry to say but they haven't placed you in debt, you should have being keeping this money to one side, ready for your bill.0 -

They should have sent you a statement and on this would be the due date for payment and the minimum amount that must be received by that date. If you didn't pay by that date, then you will get a late payment marker.
I wouldn't apply for a Barclaycard with late payments on your file. Wait a few months first.0 -

I found this too hard to read with no punctuation.
Whilst I might have had some advice to give you, unfortunately I don't know what the question is.0
