NCP John Dobson Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne - rip off

Went to Newcastle City Hall last night to see the Hairy Bikers. Parked in the nearest car park and it was NCP, but just thought like all the car parks in Newcastle they would be cheap after 5 as did 2 of my work colleagues and about another 5 in the queue to pay. For less than 3 hours parking we were all charged £9.90 each. Disgraceful extortinate charge. I bet we are not the first to be ripped off with these charges. I just wish I had checked the car park charges before entering. This is night and day time charges, no difference. No wonder people shop at the Metro Centre in Gateshead where it is free parking.

I feel I have been robbed.

It's probably costs that if it is the nearest car park to an entertainment venue likely to be busy in the evenings. They'll charge whatever the market will bear.

99% of car parks with barriers allow you to exit within 10-15 minutes without a charge.
