Item sent to buyers Paypal address, but he has moved

I sold an item, got a PayPal payment notification stating the buyers address, which is where I sent it.
Looking at eBay messages, the buyer has given a different address.
Now the buyer has contacted me, saying the courier has tried to deliver to the old address.
Am I in the wrong totally and will I have to pay for the item to be sent off again .... That is assuming there will be an additional charge.
I can only imagine the courier contacted the buyer which is how he knows about the mixup.
Thank you

Ive currently got one going through, where the buyer contacted me after dispatch to say they have moved. Not heard anything since.
Ive got a feeling you will have to refund the buyer and hope the item comes back.
You should contact ebay and paypal and report them though. You never know - ebay might do a no fault.0 -
Horrible situation and unfortunately even though buyer has been stupid it is the seller that loses out.
If seller cannot prove delivery then buyer can get a refund, the only time a buyer losses if someone at the old address accepts the parcel so that tracking shows delivered.
Really, some buyers should not be trusted with an account where they are expected to know anything complicated like their address .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you for the replies. I contacted Paypal who said I was totally right to send to the official Paypal address. for the buyer.
I then contacted the courier who are now going to send it to the new address at no extra charge.:D
So a big thumbs up to UPS:T0
