Physical memory total = 6041

I did find the word 'commit' this said

commit charge isn't important on a new (presumably well specced) machine.

have you installed anything since purchase

windows (and skype/adobe/nvidia/firefox) update will probably be chugging away for a while if it's new

That's what I think. So why is it taking soooooooooooo long?

How do I check with's in the start up process? And remove anything that's not necessary like, say, windows messenger (which I've never knowingly used).

Also, how do I remove Hijack this from my laptop? I've looked under Unistall programs, but it's not showing there.

using msconfig, hijackthis, services.msc, IE manage addons.

delete hijackthis manually if you have just downloaded the exe, but it does no harm leaving it on
