DH 0% runs out on the Feb statement date (7th) and we're looking to transfer the balance to another 0% card (natwest)
When do you think is the best time to do this? I was thinking with Christmas and new year in the way this might delay receiving cards and actually doing the BT.
On the other hand we don't think we want to do it too early as we have until Feb as it stands at 0%
I know :money: says 6 weeks before it ends but as this falls between Christmas and NY will we be silly to do it now instead?
Thanks.
edited to add; Is there any negative reason to not do it now.

There's no 'one size fits all' approach, so better to say which cards you're considering and get some idea of the times they're currently taking (from application to BT completion)?
Also, bear in mind many of the recently launched 22, 23, & 24 month cards may be heavily subscribed. This could hit you on 2 fronts...firstly they may be pulled before you get round to applying, and secondly, if they're still around there may be excessive delays.
But fundamentally, missing the 0% end date by a month will cost you circa 1.5% in interest, whereas applying a month early costs you nothing extra! (unless of course you won't be able to clear the balance within 2 years...in which case you have bigger things to worry about!)0 -
 Thanks for the info.
I think we're going to pay off another payment (beg dec) then do the BT.
How do i find out the turnaround times for the card in question?
It's the new Natwest 0% 13 months low BT fee.
We will be paying it off in the 13 month timescale too.....DEBT FREE AND PROUD
