a very lucky spay

Had a 5 month old semi feral cat spayed today- she and her sister are very tiny (generations of farm cats). Turns out that she had a HUGE cyst on one of her ovaries- the size you would expect to find in a dog! So she's got a far bigger wound than a normal spay, because Anna the vet had to make the hole big enough to get the cyst out without it bursting.
I hate to think what state she would have got into if something that big had burst inside her.
Typical cat though- she couldn't give a damn, and has just charged around like a lunatic, wanting her dinner.

Let's hope she makes a full recovery, sounds like she's on the right road with you looking after her, good luck.0

Thanks, but my attempts to look after are irrelevant. She's 100% healthy due to the skill of the vet, and the fluke that it had not already burst. I am put in my usual place by her (she is semi feral)- my only purpose as far as she sees, it to feed her, and then go away and leave her and her siblings in peace.
Weird to think it could have so easily killed her, but by the fluke of being spayed when she did, the whole thing is thankfully a non event as far as she's concerned.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0
