It's Libre, though do either of those contain Publisher?

Actual MS Publisher itself you can buy without Office for £85-ish, or in one of the Office bundles. Try PCWorld online, then you can go into branch and they'll price match themselves .

There are other layout tools available so it depends what you need - for instance scribus is free and fairly good.

Personally I recently went through all the options, tried every trial version, and stumped up the cash for MSPublisher as some of the features are really rather good and worth the money for me (eg the enhanced mail merge is great for making ID badges)
  • Have you tried software for students?
  • thanks for your replies....really after the Microsoft software. Will look at two sites mentioned

Buy an older version (e.g. Office 2003) on ebay.

If you get it much cheaper than PC world, bear in mind you will either need to be a legitimate student or will be buying a pirate copy, their prices are keener than Microsoft's own web site already, and there are no legitimate ways around paying for what you use.

That is not a version of Microsoft Office, and the product is called LibreOffice.
