Lonely Cat?

  • I emailed the shelter and although they aren't open for viewings today someone got back to me fairly swiftly.
Basically she has said that she did live in a kennel with an old cat for a few days, they were overcrowded and had had kittens dumped, so she did share and got on very well with this old cat. This old cat is still there and she's asked if I would consider her? She's 13-14, has a thyroid problem but loves cuddles.
    I'm popping down on Monday....

aahh, what a lovely early Christmas present for both little cats. We demand some photos please - I go all goo-ey at pics of kitties !

Please let us know what happens and we'd love some photos of both your new cats :D
  • Aww, I do hope it works out with the two of them.
Just a thought regarding the older cat. Could you ask the rescue if they would consider meeting or helping with the cost for her to have surgery for thyroid removal? If she is 13-14 then you could well have another 4/5 years with her and the tablets are not ideal for that length of time really....they can stop working, or cause digestive issues....also it is a pain to have to give daily tablets and vet checks every 3 months do take up time and money.

It would be really lovely if you could give the old cat a home, especially for Christmas!!

Cats of that age are really hard to rehome, I think its sad that they end up in rescue, often its not their fault, they had to be given up by elderly people dying, going into hospital or homes.

Hope it works out well, keeping my fingerscrossed.
