I wonder if it could have been a hijack - things appeared to be going swimmingly up to 16th April. From that point, the negs start coming - all for private auctions (not a fantastic sign)
If you had buyer protection (and I can't tell, as the listings were private) you're in with an excellent chance of getting your cash. If there was no buyer protection, your chances aren't quite so great. (but there's still a chance)
If you funded your payment with a credit card, you're most likely covered with them too.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
It seems strange that some of the feedback comments are so similar.
ITEM NOT RECEIVED, IGNORED ALL EMAILS, NO COMMS, STILL NO IPOD - STAY CLEAR
NO IPOD NO REPLY TO EMAILS NOW GOT CLAIM GOING DO NOT USE VERY POOR
NO IPOD RECEIVED, HAS NOT REPLIED TO ANY OF MY E-MAILS OR PAYPAL DISPUTE. V POOR
NO IPOD RECEIVED, HAS NOT REPLIED TO ANY OF MY E-MAILS OR PAYPAL DISPUTE. V POOR
NO IPOD RECEIVED, NO COMMUNICATION , IGNORES EMAILS, IGNORES PAYPAL DISPUTE, BAD
These were all from different users. Allegedly. And the top two were posted within a minute of each other, along with one more at the same time.
Auction wrecking?My TV is broken!

It doe slook like a standard hijack. Selling smaller items, usualy sub £25 then suddenly makes all the auctions private and starts selling ipods by the dozen.
Looks fishier than a dead salmon left in the sun for week.
With any luck paypal will have closed the account quickly enough to retain some funds, otherwise try your CC company.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, it looks like the anti-scam brigade have discovered the fraudster using a hijacked seller's account and taken down the auctions since eBay hasn't yet. Give it a few days and all evidence will vanish so once more eBay appears to be "a safe place to buy and sell".
By my estimate the scammer would have made off with several thousand pounds (minus the anti-scammers who didn't pay).
To James21, follow soolin's advice and file with PayPal, then your credit card company if PayPal can't "make you whole" with a full refund."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
If you look through completed items all the ipods sold did have buyer protection.
The last one sold on the 9th is here:

So OP you don't have anything to worry about and your paypal claim will be sucessful.
Looks like paypal are about to get hit hard.... ahhhh
Either that or the sellers in hospital - seems odd that the auctions have buyer protection unless the paypal account was hijacked as well.0 -
